This Privacy Policy applies to our websites dedicated to Hotel De L’Europe BV for consumers, in the Netherlands and located at Nieuwe Doelenstraat 2-14 1012CP Amsterdam, available at www.deleurope.com, www.bordeau.nl, www.marieamsterdam.com (the “Websites”) where we, Hotel De L’Europe BV, collect certain personal information. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully as it contains important information to help you understand our practices regarding any personal information that you give to us or that we collect otherwise in the context of the Website (‘Personal Data’). Hotel De L’Europe BV (‘we’ or ‘us’) is the controller of the Personal Data collected and processed.

1. What Personal Data We Collect and How We Use your Personal Data

You can use the majority of our Website without being required to provide any Personal Data to us. For certain services or activities, you will need to provide Personal Data for us to be able to provide you the requested service or product or for you to participate in the activity. Requested information on the Website marked with an asterisk is mandatory. If you do not provide the requested information, we will not be able to deliver the service or product to you or you cannot participate in the activity. In addition to information you are required to provide to us in order to participate in activities/campaigns, we collect certain information when you visit our Website. We have specified the Personal Data we collect, the purposes for which we use the Personal Data and how long we will generally retain your Personal Data:
1) Processing your reservation to be able to accept your reservation and process your payment; We need your name, e-mail address, telephone number (in case we need to communicate to you about your order) and payment information, such as credit card details. This is also for our sales administration.

The use of this Personal Data is to perform our agreement with you or to comply with legal obligations, such as tax and accounting rules. Our online sales records will be retained by us for 7 years or longer if required by tax or corporate bookkeeping.

2) Customer services: For answering your questions if you have submitted a question via the Website, for product recalls or other service mails we process your e-mail address or phone number (depending on how you have contacted us) and the question or issue you have raised with us. We register your requests, questions and our responses and other actions to handle your request and to be able exceed your expectation every time you stay with us.
We will retain all information for 7 years after your stay with us or after question or complaint has been solved or the inquiry was closed, or after your last stay.

3) Sending newsletters: if you have subscribed for the newsletter, we use the email address you have provided to send you our newsletter. You will be added automatically to our customer database. If you no longer wish to receive any e-mails from us, you can unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe function in each e-mail message or you can contact us.

The use of your Personal Data is to process your subscription, so to perform our agreement with you. We will remove your email address once you have opted-out of receiving the newsletter, unless this is also used and retained for other purposes listed in this Privacy Policy.

4) Marketing; information about your online searches (clicks and views), can be collected by us, or parties that we use to analyse website data. This information enables us to use different channels for relationship management and marketing of our products and services to you via e-mail or online advertising which may include personalising website content & advertisements. We measure the effectiveness of our campaigns.
You can always opt-out of receiving our newsletter or direct mail and you can always object to our use of your Personal Data for direct marketing purposes (for more information on how to do this, read the paragraphs 9. and 10. below on your right to object).

We use this Personal Data as it is necessary in our legitimate interests to be able to promote our products and services to our customers and website visitors, to enable us to attract more customers, to improve the sale of our products and services. 6) Maintenance and optimisation of our Website; Your Personal Data will also be used for maintenance and analysis of our Website to solve performance issues, and to improve the availability of the website. 2. Third Party Service Providers

De L’Europe only provides personal data to third parties whin it is lawful and done carefully. We may need to share Personal Data with third parties to help us provide services and products to you and to run our Website. These third parties are:
Service providers where this is needed to provide us with a service or to (help us) provide or deliver the service or product ordered by you and to provide data analytics services:

  • Revinate: Platform to gather guest data from our PMS system. This data is used for personalized email marketing and pre-arrival messages. A data processing agreement has been signed stating Revinate is not allowed to use your personal data for any other purpose;
  • Google Analytics: Google Analytics is a data processor we use to be able to gain insight into our website, for maintenance and optimization purposes. We have signed a data processing agreement with Google stating they are not allowed to use your personal data gathered through our website for any other purpose than to provide us with the insights.
  • Facebook: Used for advertising purposes via the Facebook network. Facebook uses personal data to measure the effectiveness and distribution of our ads and create an understanding of these ads and the types of people who use our services and how people interact with our website and services. As this data is collected by Facebook, you can set your preferences via their privacy settings page.
  • Orange Hotel Marketing/WordPress: Website host that ensures our website is reachable, accessible, safe and reliable. We have a signed data processing agreement stating they are not allowed to use your personal data for any other purpose;
  • SynXis: Provider of the hotel’s internal booking engine. We have a signed data processing agreement stating they are not allowed to use your personal data for any other purpose;
  • Formitable: Restaurant Reservations system. Formitable passes on the information necessary to process your restaurant reservation. Reservations can be made through different platforms as well; in that case this article is still relevant.
  • PocketMenu: Website host for the hotel’s restaurants. PocketMenu ensures our restaurant websites are reachable, accessible, safe and reliable. We have a signed data processing agreement stating they are not allowed to use your personal data for any other purpose;

These parties are all located in the Netherlands or the European Union, meaning that these third parties maintain the same standards of data protection as Hotel de L’Europe BV.

We may also need to provide Personal Data to law enforcement bodies in order to comply with any legal obligation or court order.

3. Security of Personal Data

We will take appropriate technical, physical and organizational measures to protect the Personal Data collected through the Website from misuse or accidental, unlawful or unauthorized destruction, loss, alteration, disclosure, acquisition or access, that are consistent with applicable privacy and data security laws and regulations. However, no internet-based site can be 100% secure and we cannot be held responsible for unauthorised or unintended access that is beyond our control.
