As guardians of local culture and craftsmanship, it is our pleasure to introduce you to the extraordinary artists who seek inspiration from and share their creativity with the hotel.
Born in 1993, French artist de rrusie has travelled all over the world to seek inspiration—from the United States to various places in europe—and now splits majority of his time between the alluring city of paris and the more eclectic london. After starting to paint 7 years ago, his work is reminiscent of majestic sunsets and morning dew, and inspired by his enduring passion for the sky and its endless beauty.
De Rrusie was the first ever Artist in Residence at De L’Europe, where he lived and worked for months. Inspired by the décor of the hotel and the city of Amsterdam, De Rrusie created many paintings for the hotel suites during his tenure. “De L’Europe facilitated further development of my craft by offering an inspiring place to live and work,” he said. “Living and working in a prestigious hotel with such great history, in the heart of the city, is something any artist would want in Amsterdam.”
